Denim Jeans


Today, denim jeans become a trend among young people. Especially young people who love fashion. The word "denim" comes from the name of fabric that was first made in the city of Nîmes, France. It was originally serge de Nîmes but the name was shortened to "denim". Denim jeans has several types, which has a distinct uniqueness in each model.

1. Dry or Raw Denim

This type of denim is the most favorite denim by denim lovers, because raw denim can be faded if it worn for more than 6 months. The fading is affected by the body and by the activities of the person who wears them. At the first, raw denim looks stiff. After it washed, it can be softer.

 2. Selvage or Selvedge Denim

Selvedge denim or 'self-edge' is the narrow, tightly woven band on both edges of the denim fabric. The selvedge refers to the white edge of a piece of fabric that secures the edge of the fabric and prevents unraveling. Today, selvedge denim is valued for its irregularities and character, and is typically more expensive than regular denim. Selvedges in jeans usually denote high quality denim, albeit there are many factors to consider with denim quality.





3. Stretch Denim

The materials of stretch denim is usually incorporates an elastic component, such as spandex. Most of women usually love this denim, because it can make their leg look slim. Not only women, some of men also like this denim.
